Health Odyssey: A Journey into Holistic Health

Most of the time, in our daily life, we find that there is more stuff to worry about every day. We are not as aware as we are supposed to be due to the fact that we are always rushing to get things done because of the lack of time in our lives. On Thursday, February 21st, 2012, the HCC Ybor City Dance Studio did a Health Odyssey for all of the HCC students that wanted to participate during class breaks. When I entered the studio I first felt overwhelmed by everything that was going on. I remember having my Modern teacher Mrs. Acosta pushing me to try and do one thing they were offering.
They had a 10 minute massage, healthy coffee, another different type of massage to align your body, a brain test that calculated with a computer different physically and mentally aspects of yourself with percentages, a Blossoming Heart Assessment and healthy food. They also had mini lectures available; such as, how to live in a blissful body, how to be well in a toxic world, the power of connection, etc. Of course, after more people were starting to come that is when I wanted to try everything, but this time I had to wait patiently. I finally got to do something and it was the 10 minute massage, and I chose it because even though it was very quick, it relieved a lot of tension in my back. I also tried the Brain test which I think it was totally interesting. The lady rapped a black, fabric belt in my head connected to a cable that was going to a computer, and in there, the computer could read every little detail of my body given by percentages; for example, if I need it to hydrate more, how nervous I was, my brain function (I was really impress when the percentage was 99% out of 100%, and I also relayed on it because I am always functioning even in my sleep).  The machine also gave me my overall age in terms of my health and I got scored 23 wish it was not bad, considering other friends of mine that got a way older age for their real age.  It was fun to see each others results and talk about it individually after.
I really enjoy The Health Odyssey convention because I learned a lot of things that I would not normally learn about in a daily basis and I got to interact with my classmates and other classmates who I never get a chance to talk to. I will love to have one of this conventions once again.
